The Eastern Mediterranean University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center hosted an event organised by “LEAD Cyprus” and financed by the British High Commission at EMU Rector’s Office Senate Hall on Saturday, 23 March 2019. According to a statement put forward by The Eastern Mediterranean University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, in addition to being an initiative and a process, LEAD Cyprus is also an ultimate goal. The aim of “LEAD Cyprus’ is to unite and realize the ecosystem between professionals and innovators in Cyprus and to promote business dialogue and democracy. The Cypriot communities will work together with stakeholders on the island to overcome common economic and social struggles. The event which was participated by 20 active people from different organizations across the island aimed at bringing Cypriots together and discussing issues related to the island. The event, which yielded fruitful outcomes, also touched upon the role of entrepreneurship in building peace.
The Eastern Mediterranean University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center’s statement continues as follows: “The Eastern Mediterranean University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center aims to bring out the entrepreneurial spirit in students, academic staff and employees and help them establish successful businesses through the training and workshop support. Our Center provides consultancy services to entrepreneurs and helps them establish the first phase of their new businesses. Our Center believes that innovation and entrepreneurship are the drivers of economic development and the creators of welfare.
