Eastern Mediterranean University hosted the representatives of Middle East University from Jordan between 26 and 30 January 2015. During the visit, guests received information about EMU and Famagusta.
Vice President of Middle East University Board of Trustees Dr. Sanaa Shiqwarah, Vice President for External Affairs and Architecture and Design Faculty Dean Dr. Ra’ed Qaqish and International Affairs Office and Media Training and Development Center Director Sara Nasereddin visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam in his office on the first day of their visit during which information exchange on the development of the existing collaboration agreement was discussed. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, Vice Rector for Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca and Institutional Development and International Relations Office Coordinator Cahit Ezel were also present at the meeting.
During the visit, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam presented handicrafts of lefkara lace to the representatives of Middle East University of Jordan, who also presented gifts to the Rector. Following the meeting, MEU representatives received further information about the university through a campus tour. At the end of their visit, representatives of MEU stated their fascination with EMU and put forth that it is a high quality university at international standards.
During the campus tour, MEU representatives visited EMU Architecture Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara, Communication Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu and Director of the Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Serhan Çiftçioğlu. At the end of the visit, guests expressed their pleasure in receiving detailed information about EMU. Along with EMU, international guests also had a chance to explore Famagusta.
