Eastern Mediterranean University is hosting Geomorphologies Exhibition organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Center for Cyprus Studies (EMU – CCS) and European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA). The opening of said event took place at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center at 6:00 p.m. on 2 December 2015.
In her opening address, chair of EMU Center for Cyprus Studies Prof. Dr. Naciye Doratlı thanked all participants and expressed her delight in organising an exhibition as such. Prof. Dr. Doratlı, put forth that in every product, there is effort and sacrifice and thanked İsmet Tatar, exhibition curator Dr. Esra Plümer Bardak and Zehra Şonya for their contributions.
Vice Chair of the European Mediterranean Association and EMU-CCS Visual Arts Coordinator Zehra Şonya provided information about the association and the importance of collaborations. Thanking EMU for their support, Şonya also stressed the importance of institutional cooperations in the development of arts. İsmet Tatar also delivered a short speech and thanked EMU-CCS and EMAA for their contributions.
On behalf of Eastern Mediterranean University, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam thanked EMU-CSS for their involvement in quality projects as such. Prof. Dr. Osam also added that as EMU Rector’s Office, they are always ready to support activities as such.
Among notable names who attended the event were UBP Deputy Ersin Tatar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan, Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Bekir Özer, deans, department chairs and academic staff members.
İsmet Tatar’s works of art including “Soil” and “Tranquil Moments” created between 2006 and 2013 are also being exhibited under the curatorship of Dr. Esra Plümer Bardak. The exhibition will be open for art-lovers at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. during weekdays from 2 to 30 December 2015.
