Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam received representatives of teacher unions from Letonia and Bulgaria on Friday, 15 October 2015.
During the visit at which Chair of EMU Academic Union Assist. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ulaş Altıok was also present , Prof. Dr. Osam highlighted the importance of Eastern Mediterranean University as the oldest and most prominent university of the TRNC. Highlighting the fact that EMU provides high quality study opportunities for students from over 100 different countries, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam put forth that EMU has a multicultural structure and is an educational and social platform for different nations. Prof. Dr. Osam also provided information about different accreditations EMU possesses.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, who was also present in the said meeting, stated that EMU is a global family providing equal opportunities of education in a peaceful environment regardless of students’ language, religion and race. At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Osam presented the guests frames made of traditional Lefkara lace.
