Great Interest Towards Comparative Legal Systems Master's Program at EMU

The Comparative Legal Systems Master's program (without thesis) conducted by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Law in collaboration with the L'Alma Mater Studiorum Bologna University (UniBo) Law School is accepting students for the 2017 – 2018  Academic Year Fall Semester. According to the statement released by the EMU Institute of Graduate Studies and Research joint law programs are applied in numerous regions such as USA and Europe. In this regard, The Comparative Legal Systems Master's program is the first of its kind in Turkey and the TRNC. For the joint program, EMU is the sole authority in administrative and financial affairs. The running of the program is overseen by an academic committee comprising of EMU and Bologna University academic staff members.

In addition to Faculty of Law graduates, students with undergraduate degrees from other faculties will also be accepted for the program, on condition that they complete preliminary courses. Further information about application requirements can be obtained from the website http://grad.emu.edu.tr/en/admission/english-language-requirement. As the Comparative Legal Systems Master's program is a non-thesis program, the Council of Higher Education does not require nationals of Turkey to present Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) certificates.

Upon successfully completing ten courses and one term project at the end of a year, students will receive a Joint-Double Degree certified by both universities. Free Movement in EU, Human Rights, EU Law, Comparative Constitutional Justice and Comparative Private Law are some of the courses of the postgraduate program. As the course language is English, the English efficiency requirements available at  http://grad.emu.edu.tr/en/admission/english-language-requirement must be met by prospective students.
