Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Architecture Faculty academic staff, research assistants and students, instead of exchanging gifts to celebrate the turning of the new year, decided to make the children staying at the SOS Children’s village happy.
Following enquiries made by EMU Architecture students Sevim Umay Binici and Altuğ Öztürkcan, the needs of the children residing at the SOS Children’s Village were established. With the support of the EMU Architecture Dean’s Office and EMU Rectorate, they began to prepare for the SOS Children’s Village social responsibility project. Members and President of the EMU Design Club, Sedanur Çakar also supported the project. Once all the needs of the children were collated, on the 27th December 2019, a representative of the Architecture Faculty, the president of the Design Club and the two students who founded and brought the project to life, went to the SOS Children’s Village and gave the donations.
