Eastern Mediterranean University has finalized the preparations for the 2015-2016 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony which will take place at EMU Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 28 June. During the ceremony, over 2000 students will be graduating from their respective programs.
With the graduation of over 2000 students, the number of Eastern Mediterranean University’s alumni will reach 48,000. Graduates from 54 nationalities will start their new lives at different locations of the world following their graduation on 28 June 2016.
During the ceremony which will commence with a moment of silence followed by the national anthem, student speeches will take place on behalf of graduates. The event will then continue with EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam’s opening address and protocol speeches. Faculty and department top scoring graduates will be presented their diplomas and awards by the protocol. The ceremony will then continue with the presentation of diplomas to graduates of associate, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programs. The ceremony will end with fireworks, throwing of the graduation caps into air and a concert by popular Turkish singer Gökhan Tepe.

President of the TRNC Mustafa Akıncı, TRNC Parliementary Spokesperson Dr. Sibel Siber, Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Serdar Denktaş, Minister of Economics and Energy Sunat Atun, Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, members of the parliament, undersecretaries, district governors, and mayors are expected to attend the ceremony which will also be attended by the President of EMU Board of Trustees Mehmet Bayram, members of the Board of Trustees, Vice Rectors, EMU Senate members and academic staff.
