Eastern Mediterranean University Communication Faculty organised another social responsibility project taking place under the operations of the Community Involvement Center in EMU. Within the framework of the activity entitled “The Color of Freedom is Blue”, a group of students from EMU Communication Faculty and Education Faculty Pre-School Teaching Department visited Nicosia Central Prison female ward as part of the courses entitled “Community Service Applications” and “Community Awareness Applications”.
The aforesaid visit took place under the organisation of social services specialist and Community Involvement Center executive board member Barış Başel. During the visit, female prisoners gave important messages on the elimination of violence against women and drew a female silhouette on the floor to draw attention to the issue of murdered females.
During the visit, Cypriot artist Ayşegül Zayim and her daughter provided support for female prisoners by singing songs to them. At the end of the event, female prisoners thanked EMU students for their meaningful visit.
