Eastern Mediterranean University Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty will organize various activities within the scope of 14 March Medicine Day. Each year, 14 March Medicine Day is celebrated with a focus on the service problems encountered by workers in the health sector in Turkey, and the display of their contributions to science and society. This year the said day will be observed on 15 March, 2021 with an online seminar at 13:00.
At the seminar, which will take place under the moderation of EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora, EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty academic staff member Prof. Dr. Ömür Çınar Elçi will make a presentation on "Global Medical Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic". On Saturday, 20 March, 2021, an online painting exhibition will be held within the scope of the 1st Brain Awareness Week. The painting exhibition to be held at 10:00 can be accessed on the faculty's page (https://medicine.emu.edu.tr/en ).
Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora said the following in her statement: “The celebrations of“ 14 March Medicine Day ”, which have come to this day, are now observed as“ 14 March Medicine Week ”, including the week it is in. A pandemic has affected the whole world since the last year. The value of health and health professionals is once again understood. This year, we will organize our "14 March Medicine Week" events in memory of all healthcare professionals who have lost their lives during the pandemic. Within the scope of these activities, the subject of 'Medical Education in the World in the Period of Pandemic' will be discussed in a conference with the experts of the subject and within the scope of the 1st Brain Awareness Week activities, an exhibition featuring the beautiful paintings of children between the ages of 5 and 11 from all four corners of Northern Cyprus will be inaugurated.
