Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences, Guidance and Psychological Counselling Program 2011 graduate Sena Sinem Aydın participated in the finals of Teknofest, the biggest technology festival of Türkiye. ‘Emotion Hunters’ team led by Aydın received the “Project with the Strongest Scientific Aspect” award in the “Technologic Applications in Psychology” category.
A digital game was developed as part of this project, with the goal of merging entertainment and education to boost emotional awareness in elementary-aged children. The game introduced a therapeutic approach focused on emotions. To assess the project’s effectiveness, pre-test and post-test applications were conducted in partnership with classroom teachers. The game aims to help users improve their ability to identify, label, and accurately express emotions. By doing so, it seeks to address common behavioral issues such as peer bullying, violent tendencies, and communication difficulties.
Aydın has been a source of inspiration for the youth, with her participation in various projects including Projects organized by Ministries, National Agency Projects, Development Agency Projects and TUBITAK. Aydın took part in the mentioned projects as the coordinator or the specialist. A statement released by the EMU Rector’s Office on the topic said; “As the EMU family, we congratulate our alumna Sena Sinem Aydın on her achievements. We hope that her future contributions in the technology field will reach a broader audience”.
