Current Research Topics in ELT This course aims to equip graduate students with research skills and a thorough understanding of research design so that they can confidently undertake their own research. A study of the nature of scientific inquiry will be the main focus in the course which will cover topics such as planning a research, using library and audio and video recording and statistical packages as research tools. |

Studies in Second Language Acquisition This course offers a broad introduction to a range of current theoretical positions in SLA and the tools to evaluate their goals, strengths and limitations. It attempts a critical review of linguistic, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic theories of SLA. An attempt will also be made to link the scientific findings of SLA research with the art of language teaching through candidates' own experiences as teachers and learners. |
