This course will analyze and compare major feminist social and political theories, including those that have emerged from liberal, socialist, Marxist, radical and Muslim feminist traditions. The relationship among theories of sexism and political goals and practices will be discussed with an aim to increase the sensitivity of the students to the importance of understanding gender in relation to other important social factors such as “race,” class, sexuality, national context, and others. |
